FAQs
Why porcelain is the best alternative to engineered stone?
Is a porcelain benchtop the right choice, now that engineered stone is out of the picture?
An official ban has been announced for engineered stone within Australia, and will be put in place on the 1 July 2024. Engineered stone has serious health effects for builders and stone cutters that work the stone, due to it producing a fine crystalline dust called Silica. Many retailers and stores are already banning silica-containing products, including Bunnings.
If you are renovating your kitchen, moving into a new place or even just thinking about a kitchen remodel, it’s time to start thinking about alternatives to engineered stone. And porcelain, as a benchtop surface, is quickly becoming one of the most favourable options.

To enhance durability and resistance against chipping or breakage, we advise rounding all edges of your porcelain surfaces to a minimum radius of 3-4mm, regardless of the edge profile.
Overhangs exceeding 300mm:
Additional support bars of columns are required.
6mm Thickness is not for Benchtop Applications:
